Join Madison Family Farms and the Ramsey Center for Regional Studies at Mars Hill College for a Seed and Story Swap event on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at 6pm at Mars Hill College. We are seeking people with varieties of seeds that they have passed down in their families and communities to tell their stories at this event and, if willing, share their seeds. We also are welcoming people who are interested in hearing the stories and enjoying a Madison Family Farms local food dinner. Dinner can be purchased for $6.75 at the door.
Please contact Amy Carraux (acarraux@mhc.edu or 828.689.1571) for more details or if you are willing to share a story.
“My niece and nephew are the sixth generation that I know of to grow and harvest this pumpkin that my Grandma always said made the best pumpkin pies. Even though she has passed away now, we feel a strong connection to her when we plant these pumpkin seeds at the full moon in May just as she taught us, then watch as these seeds grow into the pumpkins she loved.”
